Getting started with your website project
We’re excited to begin your website project! To help guide you through the process, here’s what we need from you before we begin and an outline of what to expect along the way.
What we need to get started
Before we can begin designing your website, we’ll need a few things from you:
Your Logo: Please provide your logo in PDF, EPS, or high-resolution JPEG/PNG format.
Brand Style Guide: If you have a brand style guide, please share it with us. This includes any specific colours, fonts, or design elements.
Images & Pictures: Any current or new images you’d like to feature on your site.
Page Content: The content for each page of your website, including any updated information you want to showcase.
Hosting Credentials: We’ll need the login details for your hosting account where your domain (URL) is registered.
We’ll set up a secure Dropbox folder for you to upload these files. Look out for an email from us with the folder link!
The design process
Here’s an overview of what you can expect during the design and build of your website.
Phase One: Strategy session & homepage design
Once we’ve received all the necessary materials from you, we’ll start with a strategy session. In this session, we’ll work with you to define your brand’s mission, values, voice, target customers, and sitemap. This will set the foundation for the design.
After the strategy session, we’ll begin designing the homepage. You’ll receive the homepage design for review, and you’ll have two opportunities to request revisions. Once the homepage is approved, we’ll move on to the rest of the site.
Phase Two: Full website build
After the homepage is approved, we’ll build out the rest of your website based on the approved sitemap. This includes setting up all the required pages and functionality (e.g., contact forms, galleries, etc.).
Once the full website is built, you’ll have one revision opportunity for each page, so make sure to review everything carefully and compile your feedback into a single document or email per page.
Phase Three: Final review & launch
Before we make the final changes, we’ll schedule a Zoom call to walk through all your feedback together. Once your final revisions are made, we’ll connect your domain and set up Google Analytics (if provided).
Your website will be secured with an SSL certificate, which takes 24-48 hours to issue. After that, your website will be live and ready to be shared with the world! 🎉
